Coach Walter: Chess Club

(1st-5th Grade, Min 10/Max 18)

Anyone interested in learning how to play the game of chess is encouraged to register and all skill levels are welcome. Students

will have the opportunity to learn from an instructor, play chess with their friends, complete activities and challenges to win

prizes, and even compete in tournaments if they so choose. Coach Walter will sub for Coach David this quarter.

Creative Coding

((3rd-5th Grade, Min 5/Max 12)

Creative Coding teaches your child to code by helping them make their own custom video games! Our Project based, multi-level

classes are amazingly fun yet very effective in teaching creative problem solving AND emotional resilience. As the students

bring their ideas to life, they iterate through the emotional cycle of Coding (idea>excitement>effort> frustration>more

effort>triumph!) with our support and positive encouragement. Repeating this cycle not only builds great coders, but more

importantly, develops emotional persistence that will help students enjoy taking on new challenges in all aspects of their lives.

Students new to coding will participate in the Creative Coding core curriculum, learning the fundamental elements of coding

using MIT's Scratch to create their very own computer games! Many parents and educators are realizing that the benefits of

learning to code at a young age extend far beyond the skill itself. Through the "brain exercise" of coding, coders build

intelligence like athletes build muscles. Just as importantly, they develop stronger problem-solving skills, confidence over

technology, and emotional persistence.

HOFTC: Choose Your Own Adventure

(K-5th Grade, Max 8)

Would your child like to join friends for an organized active game led by one of our experienced counselors? Would they prefer

to play an indoor board game or card game? How about solo time to color or work on homework? Maybe they just need

some less-structured free-time on the playground or field (rain or shine!) after school to burn off excess energy and engage in

free play. We offer all of those options! Choose Your Own Adventure allows each child to recharge after school in their own way,

without screens and with proper supervision.

Illumination Theatre: Mini Movies—Drama, Skits, & More

(K-5th Grade, Min 7/Max 14)

Join us for an exciting program where students will explore the magic of storytelling through drama, skits, and mini-movie

making! Each week, young performers will engage in fun, interactive activities that spark creativity, build confidence, and

develop teamwork skills. Students will: Learn basic drama elements; Create and perform their own short scenes; Act out fun and

engaging skits; Explore the process of making mini-movies; Boost confidence and stage presence. The class will conclude with

a mini-movie showcase where students will email home their creations to share with family and friends! No prior experience

needed—just bring your imagination and enthusiasm! Lights, camera, action—let’s make some movie magic!

Play-Well TEK: LEGO Engineering Winter Wonderland

(1st-3rd Grade, Min 10/Max 16)

Bundle up, we’re creating a spectacular Winter Wonderland! Build bobsleds, design snowmobiles, and take a ride on the Polar

Express. Explore your snowiest ideas and learn STEM concepts with tens of thousands of LEGO® pieces at your mitten-tips and

the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor.

Where Creatives Gather: All About Art--Hello Kitty Club & Friends

(K-5th Grade, Min 10/Max 16)

If you love all things Hello Kitty and Friends and love to do arts and crafts, this club is for you! In this quarter, all art projects and

activities will center around Hello Kitty and Friends. We will explore clay, several types of paper crafts, DIY squishies, jewelry

and design t-shirts with our favorite characters. We will also play games and roll play activities. All snacks and supplies provided.

Where Creatives Gather: All About Art--The Elements, Plants, & Minecraft

(K-5th Grade, Min 10/Max)

Calling all Minecraft enthusiasts and artists of nature! In this quarter, we are combining our artistic ideas to create Minecraft art

that will include real plants and the elements of Earth, bringing our Minecraft worlds to life. Projects will include building a

Minecraft terrarium, clay figures, designing Minecraft planters to hold our plants, resin creatures and more! All supplies and
